SW Colorado Back To Texas
Once we got down to the Ridgway area we realized we had good timing because the aspens were just beginning to turn. This page
is almost all about the different trips we made to wander among the snow covered mountains. But we also managed to hit a few
micro breweries to sample various Colorado ales. From here we plan to head over to the Spanish Peaks area near Walsenburg, Colorado.
From there we're hoping to hike a trail in Palo Duro Canyon before meeting up with friends and family for the Texas Tech/OU game in
Lubbock. Back in Spicewood on October 7th.
See .. this is classic fall color in Colorado. We had snow in the mountains that blew all the smoke away and the gold aspen
trees were at their peak. Everyone we ran into while traveling through these locations had big smiles on their faces.
Kind of a positive emotional experience.
Aspen color around Telluride.
Bridal Vail Falls just east of Telluride. (Couldn't convince Cindy to ride up to the top .. she was very descriptive in expressing what
she thought about the idea).
A few of the above pictures were taken off Last Dollar Road, a dirt road that winds up into the mountains .. great view points ..
very little traffic .. superb color.
I'll try to fill a couple more pictures in before we get back to Spicewood if it works out .. if it happens I'll put out a end of
trip update email.
